Know Laurie

Hi! Nice to meet you! I’m Laurie Smoldt. I’m excited to be joining Kelly and friends at Artful Impact Studio.

For the last seven years, I’ve worked as a paraprofessional in special education classrooms, both at the middle school and high school level. I was introduced to the world of SpEd by a couple of great mentors (Kelly & Julie) and found a community where my gifts and abilities could have a positive impact and lend themselves to a greater purpose and good. I’ve been eagerly waiting to continue this good work at Artful Impact.

My family and I have lived in the West Lafayette area for the last 20 years. My husband and I have one Purdue grad, one Purdue student, and another in high school. Spending time with my friends, family and church, being outside, and growing things are important to me.

My hometown is just up the road in Peru, IN. (Ask me about the circus sometime!) I also enjoy travel, reading, and sending funny memes to my family.
